Funeral services for Donald L. “Bo” Currie,of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, at Easthaven BaptistChurch in Brookhaven with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery inCopiah County. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service atthe church.

    Mr. Currie, 86, died July 9, 2011, at his residence. He was born inUnion Church on Nov. 24, 1924, to Fleet Currie and HettieCurrie.

    He was a graduate of Mississippi College and a retiredschoolteacher. He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church. He wasalso a United States Navy veteran of World War II.

    If you were ever near a tennis court, chances were you would seeDon Currie either playing or teaching tennis. His love of the sportbrought him together with the community and many special bonds wereformed that still remain.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; and 11 siblings.

    Survivors are his wife, Betty T. Currie, of Brookhaven; his son,Alan Currie and wife, Angie, of Brookhaven; his daughter, DonnaCurrie Becker and husband, Jasper, of North Carolina; and fivegrandchildren, David Wheeler, Kelly Wheeler, Madison Currie, EllieCurrie and Lauren Currie.
