Peggy G. Durham was born Aug. 2, 1940, inVicksburg and passed away on July 8, 2011, at the age of 70.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Maxie “Puddy”Gastrell.

    Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, George E.Durham, who is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel; herdaughter, Kelly Sowda and husband, Chris; her son, Ged Durham; fourgrandchildren, Kadie and Ty Durham, and Ali and Cheyenne Sowda, whoknew her as “Nana”; her sisters, Joyce Johnson, of Clinton, andPatricia Corbitt, of Teton Falls, N.J.; her brother, Greg Gastrell,of Vicksburg; and with other relatives and friends.

    Visitation began at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011, in the Chapelof Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home with funeral servicesfollowing at 10 a.m. Interment was in Forest Park The WoodlandsCemetery.
