Funeral services for Johnny B. Howard Jr.,of Brookhaven, are 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Bethel A.M.E.Church in Brookhaven with burial in Rose Hill City Cemetery onWednesday at 11 a.m. Williams Mortuary is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Howard, 63, died Aug. 18, 2011, at his residence. He was bornin Brookhaven on April 7, 1948, to Johnny B. Howard Sr. and EulaEvans Howard.

    He was a 1965 graduate of Alexander High School and was retiredafter over 25 years of service with Diamond Offshore DrillingCompany. He was a member of Friendship Lodge No. 993 of theInternational Order of Elks, where he served faithfully with theAntler Guard.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, BevelynVictorian and Deborah Hubbard; and his stepson, Royce Dixon.

    Survivors are his daughters, Jennifer Marie Howard, of Chicago,Ill., La’Toya Howard, of Brookhaven, and La’Tichia Howard Fox, ofLansing, Mich.; his brother, Jonah Howard, of Hesperia, Calif.; hissisters, Jeweline Harris, of Chicago, Alice Price, of GrandPrairie, Texas, Clara Kennedy and husband, Albert, of Oswego, Ill.,Doris Rancifer, of Kalamazoo, Mich., Alma Smith and Hattie MarieCrisler and husband, Glenn, all of Brookhaven, and Esther Andersonand husband, Daniel, of Aurora, Ill.; five grandchildren; and manynieces, nephews and other relatives.
