Services for Allie Laird, of Bogue Chitto,are 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Johnson Grove Church of Christ inBrookhaven with burial in Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday at Johnson Grove Church ofChrist.

    Mrs. Laird, 88, died Aug. 24, 2011, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was born on July 14,1923, in Lincoln County to Casen Smith and Genie Smith Smith.

    She was a homemaker and a member of Johnson Grove Church ofChrist.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, VersieLaird.

    Survivors include her sons, Barto Laird and wife, Sue, ofBrookhaven, and Alfred Versie Laird and wife, Bonita, of SilverCreek; a sister, Vergie Weeks, of Brookhaven; five grandchildren,Amanda Jergins, Mitch Laird, Mark Laird, Celeste Ashley andCharemon Rushing; 10 great-grandchildren; and twogreat-great-grandchildren.
