Funeral services for Will Henry “Whimp”Robinson, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at St.James M. B. Church, with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery.Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

    Visitation is Friday from 1 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home andagain on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at thechurch.

    Mr. Robinson, 83, died Aug. 30, 2011, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on April 1,1928, to Elige and Callie Robinson.

    He was a graduate of Alexander High School. He retired as a workerfor Abrams Mercantile when the store was closed. He also worked asan electrician with Sullivan Electric. He was a veteran of U.S.Army where he earned the rank of corporal. He was a member of St.James M.B. Church where he was a deacon, a trustee, Sunday schoolsuperintendent, usher and he was the treasurer for the fellowshipof churches.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, DianeRobinson; his brother, Curtis Robinson; and his sister, DorothyRobinson Lewis.

    Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Elaine Robinson, of Brookhaven;his son, Samuel “Mug” Smith and wife, Mary Ann, of Brookhaven; hisdaughters, Jonnie Robinson Sullivan and husband, David, WillieRobinson Diggs and husband, Roger, Shirley Robinson Ratcliff andhusband, Hollis, all of Brookhaven; his brothers, Elige Robinsonand Sheridell Robinson, both of Brookhaven, and Johnny Robinson andwife, Madeline, of Greenville; his 11 grandchildren; and his 14great-grandchildren.
