Funeral services for Philip “Flip” WaylandWilliamson, of Summit, are 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, atHartman-Sharkey Funeral Home, with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Johnny Grimes, Mike Grimes, Scott Fletcher,Richard Coghlan, B.J. Nettles and Ed North. Honorary pallbearerswill be Davis Bell and members of the McComb Fire Department.

    Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Williamson, 58, died Sept. 20, 2011, at his home. He was bornin Monticello on May 18, 1953 to George Wayland Williamson andMollye Young Williamson.

    He was retired deputy chief of the McComb Fire Department after 30years of service. He was a member of the National RifleAssociation, and a member of First Baptist Church in Summit.

    Preceding him in death were his parents.

    Survivors are his wife, Peggy Roberts Williamson of Summit; son,Matthew Williamson, of McComb; friend, Katelyn Johnson, of Summit;daughter Lauren Bailey and husband, Dustin, of Summit; brother, TheRev. George T. Williamson and wife, Sterling, of Pulaski, N.Y.; andbrother-in-law, George J. Roberts, of Florence.
