Funeral services for Ruth Williams Carruth,of Summit, are 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, at Adams United MethodistChurch, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. CharlesBrister will be officiating. Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.
Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 until 11a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carruth, 103, died Sept. 29, 2011, at her home. She was bornin Amite County on Feb. 22, 1908, to June and Sally TerryWilliams.
She was a homemaker and a very active member of Adams U.M.C. andMethodist Women. She also was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs.Carruth was a wonderful quilter and seamstress. She will be sadlymissed by those who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 71 years, JohnP. Carruth III; great-granddaughter, Casey Casanova; four brothers;and four sisters.
Survivors are her sons, John Carruth and wife, Kitty, and LelandCarruth and wife, Nola; four grandchildren, Bruce and SandraCarruth, Chris and Paula DesRoche, Ted and Sheryl “Tuttie” Tate andLeland Jr. and Peggy Carruth; four step-grandchildren, Larry andTammy Ezell, Mike and Patty Dumiller, Glen and Linda Ezell and “J”and Pam East; seven great-grandchildren, Bruce Jr. and JillCarruth, Jessica Tate, Kaitlyn Tate, Leland Carruth III, HoldenCarruth, Carly Carruth and Kohli Carruth; eightstep-great-grandchildren, Kevin and Jinci Strahan, Ben and MichelleCarlton, Michael Jr. and Shannon Dumiller, Joshua E. Ezell, MeganEzell, Matthew East, MacKenzie East and Jana East; and numerousnieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bob Lee, Bill Lee, Glen Ezell, Larry Ezell,Mike Dumiller, Carruth McGehee and Sammy Williams.
