Arthur P. Neal, of Monticello, died Oct. 8,2011, at Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at New HopeBaptist Church in Monticello with burial in the church cemetery.Visitation is Sunday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church.  Brookhaven Funeral Home is in chargeof arrangements.

    Mr. Neal was born on April 21, 1939, in Lawrence County to ShelbyEugene Neal and Addie Davis Neal. He was a member of New HopeBaptist Church and retired from construction work.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby Neal and AddieDavis Neal; his daughter, Melissa Dale Neal; his brothers, Kenneth,M.S., and Coolidge; and his sister, Dovie Neal.

    Survivors include his wife, Margaret Boyd Neal, of Monticello; hisson, Jackie Mixon, of Gonzales, La., and Tracy Neal, of SilverCreek; his brother, John Garland Neal of Pearl; five grandchildren;and seven great-grandchildren.
