Funeral services for Wylie “Gordon” Smith,of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at Riverwood FamilyFuneral Service, with burial in Holly Springs Baptist ChurchCemetery.

    Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Smith, 73, died Oct. 25, 2011, at Renea Johnson’s Personal CareCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 23, 1938, to John”Manny” Smith and Gladys Turnage Smith.

    He was retired from Deviney Construction and attended Holly SpringsBaptist Church. He was in the U.S. Navy.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; and wife, Juanita Ann FurrSmith.

    Survivors are his special friend, Judy Yelverton; sons, Billy Smithand wife, Becky, of Bogue Chitto, Gene Smith and fiancé, JanetPassman, of Natchez, Johnny Smith and wife, Candi, of Brookhaven,and Corey Smith, of Hazlehurst; brother, Elton Smith, ofBrookhaven; special caretaker and niece, Susie Alonzo; 13grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
