Funeral services for Doris Allred Bane, ofBrookhaven, are 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at FaithPresbyterian Church, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. TheRev. Russ Hightower, of Faith Presbyterian Church, and The Rev.Bruce Case, of Parkway Hills United Methodist Church in Madison,will be officiating. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in chargeof arrangements.

    Visitation is Tuesday from 1 until 3 p.m. in the Fogarty Room atthe church.

    Mrs. Bane, 84, died Nov. 12, 2011, at her home. She was born inCollins on April 9, 1927, to Dr. Dewitt Talmadge Allred and VelmaWatkins Allred.

    She was the owner of Bane Drugs in Brookhaven since 1954 and amember of Faith Presbyterian Church. She graduated from CollinsHigh School and attended Judson College, University of SouthernMississippi, Ole Miss and Waynesburg College in Waynesburg, Pa.,graduating as a music major in voice. Also in Waynesburg, she mether sweet Clinton to whom she was married for 53 years. Such apatriot, Mrs. Bane was a member of the D.A.R., as well as theMatinee Musicale. Although accomplished in music, voice and piano,her love for reading, especially her Bible, was one of her greatestjoys. A devoted and adored wife, her greatest achievement, shesaid, was her children; but to really bring a sparkle to her eyeswere her grandchildren.

    Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Clinton E. BaneJr.; and brother, D. Talmadge Allred Jr. 

    Survivors are her sons, Clinton E. Bane III and wife, Adrienne, ofBrookhaven, and Allen Allred Bane, of Brookhaven; daughters,Beverly Bane Case and husband, Richard, of Brookhaven, Mary EllenBane, of Memphis, Tenn., and Velma “Bunny” Bane Lea, of Brookhaven;sister, Anne Allred Bethea, of Canton, Ga.; eight grandchildren,John Davis, of San Antonio, Lindsey Davis, of Memphis, Tenn.,Rosanna Lea, of Flowood, Grant Case, of Brookhaven, Lt. j.g.Collins Bane Case, USN of Whidbey Island, Wash., Hallie Bane, ofOrange Beach, Ala., Duncan Bane and Patton Bane, both ofBrookhaven; and many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

    Her children would like to give a special thanks to CarolinaRichardson, Joyce Rice and Judy Townsend for their special care,and especially to Ima Windmiller for treating their mother withsuch wonderful love and respect.
