The ex-husband of a Lincoln County womanwas arrested and charged by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s DepartmentTuesday, following a Nov. 5 incident which sent both of them to thehospital.

    Charles Netterville, 31, allegedly broke into the home of ex-wifeJennifer Netterville, 30, at 751 Case Trail early that Saturdaymorning and shot her in the neck and shoulder area with a shotgun,authorities reported. He then turned the gun on himself, shootinghis stomach.

    The two were transported to the University of Mississippi MedicalCenter in Jackson after Jennifer Netterville managed to dial 911.Both underwent surgeries later that Saturday, Rushing said.

    “Both were released from the hospital Tuesday, and that’s when wearrested him,” Rushing said.

    Jennifer Netterville returned to her home to finish recovering,according to Rushing

    The charges against Netterville include aggravated domesticviolence and burglary, Rushing said.

    “Burglary is breaking into a dwelling with intent to commit a crimeonce inside,” Rushing explained. “Not necessarily that he stoleanything. The crime after breaking in was the shooting,obviously.”

    Rushing explained two children were in the home at the time of theshooting, and it was his understanding that they stayed with familymembers in the absence of Jennifer Netterville.

    Rushing said he understood the Nettervilles to be recentlydivorced, and that there is still no known address for CharlesNetterville.

    “He had been staying with various family members until the Nov. 5incident,” Rushing said.

    According to the department, the Nov. 5 incident is the latest in astring of domestic disputes at Jennifer Netterville’s home.

    “Over the prior three or four months, we’ve been out there a coupleof times just on complaints,” Rushing said.

    One of those times, however, ended with Charles Netterville beingarrested on charges of domestic violence.

    “We arrested him on Oct. 9 for domestic violence,” Rushing said.”There were two charges under that: disturbing the family peace andsimple assault. They’re both under the domestic violencestatute.”

    He was released on bond for that incident.

    Now, he sits in the Lincoln County jail with a $500,000 cash bondawaiting his initial justice court appearance, Rushing said. Afterthat, a grand jury will determine the indictment on the charges foraggravated domestic violence and burglary.

    “Throughout the court system process, with a bond that high, Idon’t see him going anywhere.” Rushing said.
