Funeral services for Myra Lee MartinThornhill, of Meadville, were 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, atFranklin Funeral Home in Meadville, with burial in Midway Cemetery.Dr. Harold Anderson and The Rev. Brad Moak officiated.

    Mrs. Thornhill, 83, died Nov. 27, 2011, at Franklin MemorialHospital. She was born in McComb on July 25, 1928, to TillieMatthew Martin and Irene Brumfield Holmes.

    She was a homemaker and retired newspaper carrier for variousnewspapers and a member of First Baptist Church of Bude.

    Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Sam E. Thornhill;son, Jan Kevin Thornhill; and brother, Howard Martin.

    Survivors are her sons, Richard Thornhill and wife, Ester, of Bude,Sam Thornhill Jr., of Bude, and Jerry Thornhill and wife, Sonya, ofRaymond; daughters, Marie Scott and husband, Jeff, of Monroe, JoyceBrown, of Bude, and Pam Dier and husband, Dale, of Meadville;brothers, Walter Martin and J.B. Holmes; sisters, Lavern Lawrence,Shirley Blansett and Eva Hayden; 14 grandchildren; and 18great-grandchildren.

    Pallbearers were Brian Thornhill, Eddie Harris, Tony Miller, Bro.Leroy McFarland Jr., Matthew Dier, James Orr Portrey and LeroyMcFarland Sr. Honorary pallbearer was Jeff Scott.
