Funeral services for Paul Douglas “P.D.”Carlisle, of McComb, are 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, atHartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb, with burial in HollywoodCemetery. Dr. David Millican will be officiating.

    Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

    Mr. Carlisle, 69, died Dec. 5, 2011, from complications of cancer.He was born in Greenville, Ala. on Oct. 29, 1942, to Ollie Felixand Margaret Viola Gilliand Carlisle.

    He was a retired brakeman/conductor for Illinois Central Railroadwith 44 years of service. He was a member of South McComb BaptistChurch and the Young at Heart Bowling League that bowled everyWednesday evening. Mr. Carlisle was a beloved husband, father andgrandfather and a kind and loving person who will be greatly missedby all that knew him.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Patricia SmithCarlisle; son, John Paul Carlisle; and daughter, Margaret LynnCarlisle.

    Survivors are his loving wife, Marjorie Earline Carlisle; belovedsons, Douglas Carlisle and Ollie Carlisle and wife, Mary, ofMagnolia; sister and brother-in-law, Merlene Carlisle Bordes andEddie, of Metarie, La.; stepsons, Roland and Jimmy Herrin, of BogueChitto; stepdaughter, Kimberly Williams and husband, Jessie, ofBogue Chitto; five grandchildren, C.L. Herrin, Darius Martin,Tyree, Cameron and Jaden Williams; one great-grandson, HunterHerrin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
