Funeral services for Michael “Mike” FredSmith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at Heuck’sRetreat Baptist Church in Brookhaven, with burial in the churchcemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home andSaturday from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.

    Mr. Smith, 64, died Dec. 8, 2011, at King’s Daughter MedicalCenter.                                                                                          He was born in Brookhaven on Nov. 6, 1947, to Fred Earl and LavadaHaley Smith.

    He was disabled. He was a member of Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Churchwhere he loved all the children and babies there. He was a helperon a dairy farm and hay business.

    Preceding him in death were his parents.

    Survivors are his brother, David Smith, of Brookhaven; aunts,Willena Haley Smith, Moreta Lea and Thelma Haley, all ofBrookhaven; numerous cousins and friends; and special caretaker,Sue Earline Smith, of Brookhaven.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heuck’s RetreatBaptist Church Building Fund or Children’s Ministry.
