Graveside services for J C Rushing,formerly of Tylertown and Brookhaven, were 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec.20, at Rushing Cemetery. The Rev. Bendon Ginn officiated. CappsFuneral Home in Tylertown was in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Rushing, 80, died Dec. 17, 2011, at Aston Court RetirementCommunity in McComb. He was born in Tylertown on Aug. 23, 1931, toThad Ellis and Mattie Smith Rushing.

    He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven. He wasalso a Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Rushing was a maintenance mechanicretired from Georgia Pacific and he loved to fish and garden.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, JerryRushing and Al Rushing.

            Survivors are his son,Michael Rushing and wife, Charemon, of Silver Creek; daughter,Tammy Diasselliss and husband, Jim, of John’s Creek, Ga.;grandchildren, Benjamin Rushing, Erin Rushing and JaimeDiasselliss; brother, Harlon Rushing and wife, Janell, of Norco,La.; sister, Willie Nell Whittington, of Tylertown and BettySanford, of Memphis, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
