Funeral services for Hollis Bass, ofMeadville, are 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, at Middleton CreekPrimitive Baptist Church in Franklin County, with burial inEddiceton Baptist Church Cemetery. Franklin Funeral Home is incharge of arrangements.

    Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home andThursday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.

    Mr. Bass, 93, died Jan. 3, 2012, at his home. He was born inFranklin County on Jan. 28, 1918, to John and Meda RushingBass.

    He was a retired carpenter and a World War II veteran. He was amember of Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Gladys Terrell Bass;and three brothers.

    Survivors are his sons, Charles “Bull” Bass and wife, of McComb,Rusty Bass and wife, of Bude, and Ricky Bass and wife, of Lucien;daughters, Martha Smallwood and husband, of Meadville, and MaryRussell and husband, of Lucien; sister, Mildred Jackson; sevengrandchildren, Courtney Biggs, Kelly Matthews, Wade Bass, JohnRussell, Jessica Grice, Joe Russell and Colby Bass; and threegreat-grandchildren, Lane Biggs, Anne Grace Biggs and JeremiahSmallwood.
