    Visitation is Friday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Thames, 78, died Jan. 3, 2012, at her home. She was born inMississippi on Dec. 1, 1933, to Oliver Haywood “Maxie” White Sr.and Rosamond Virginia Bailey White.

    She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved going tochurch.

    Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James WalterThames, Sr.; daughter, Virginia Lynn Reese; son, Shon AndrewThames; brother, Oliver White; and sister, BettyHorton. 

    Survivors are her sons, Keith Eugene Thames and wife, Tywanna,James W. Thames Jr. and wife, Sonya, and Charles Orville Thames andwife, Britt; daughter, Sharon Thomas and husband, Gerald; brother,James White; 9 grandchildren, Krystal Welch, Amy Thomas, AshleyReese, Randy “Bub” Reese, David Thames, Abby Thames, Bobby Marsh,Keith Marsh Jr. and Addie Thames.; and fourgreat-grandchildren.
