Funeral services for Dr. Carl S. Bozeman,of Hazlehurst, are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at First BaptistChurch of Hazelhurst, with burial in Hazlehurst Cemetery. StringerFamily Funeral Services in Hazlehurst is in charge ofarrangements.

    Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

    Dr. Bozeman, 86, passed away Jan. 11, 2012. He was born on April23, 1925.

    Dr. Bozeman was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, serving inSaipan, Marianas Islands, Iwo Jima and Volcano Islands. He receivedhis Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State Universityand a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. He wasa life member of the American Veterinary Medical Association andthe Mississippi Veterinary Association. Dr. Bozeman was pastpresident of the Copiah County Fair Association, board member ofCopiah Water Association and past president of National Active andRetired Federal Employees Association. He was also a member of theMississippi Cattlemen’s Association and a state director. Dr.Bozeman was 1996 Forester of the Year. He was a founding member andpast president of Copiah Educational Foundation. He was a memberand deacon of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.

    Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Betty Higdon Bozeman; sons,Carl Stephens Bozeman Jr. and wife, Becky, of Hazlehurst, andJeffrey Neal Bozeman and wife, Lynn, of Brookhaven; daughters,Vickie Bozeman Gaddy and husband, Herschell, of Brookhaven, andKimberly Bozeman Hood and husband, Jerry, of Wesson; sister, MaryBozeman, of Madison; and grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Gaddy, CarlStephen Bozeman, Jerry Warren Hood Jr., Joshua Bozeman Hood,Jeffrey Neal Bozeman Jr., Kathryn Allen Gaddy, Rebecca GraceBozeman, William Hunter Hood, Christopher Peyton Hood, JacobTisdale Bozeman, Abby Wilson Bozeman, Meredith Jewell Bozeman andRachel Ann Bozeman.
