Funeral services for William Allen “Willie”Hodges, of Summit, were 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Moak’sCreek Baptist Church in Summit, with burial in the church cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

    Mr. Hodges, 84, passed away Jan. 15, 2012, at his home. He was bornin Pike County on Jan. 31, 1927, to Will and Sally ParnellHodges.

    He retired from Illinois Central Railroad after 40 years ofservice. He was a lifelong member of Moak’s Creek Baptist Church,where he served as a deacon for 54 years. Mr. Hodges was a 56-yearMaster Mason and member at the Grand Lodge of Mississippi.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Monroe and DavidHodges; sisters, Elizabeth Kyzar, Grace Finner, Kathryn May, AnnaB. Kirkfield and Carrie Sharplin; and two sons, Bruce Allen andRobbie Leroy Hodges.

    Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Louise Johnston Hodges; fourchildren, Linda Branch and husband, Sam, of Hattiesburg, KevinHodges and wife, Penny, of Brookhaven, Rodney Hodges, ofThibodeaux, La., and Clayton Hodges and wife, Connie, ofBrookhaven; five grandchildren, Summer M. Williams, of Hattiesburg,Jeremy Boyd, of Jackson, Autumn Gatlin and husband, Lance, ofBrookhaven, Cal Hodges and wife, Cortney, of Starkville, and ColeHodges, of Hattiesburg; and two great-grandchildren, Braden andLynlee Gatlin, of Brookhaven.
