Travis Dean Jordan Sr.

Mr. Travis Dean Jordan Sr., 89, a World WarII veteran (recipient of a purple heart, two bronze stars andnumerous other metals), passed away Jan. 17, 2012 at the V.A.Medical Center in Biloxi. He was a lifelong resident of BogueChitto, except for the last seven years when he lived in Biloxiwith his son. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in theSweetwater Community in Lincoln County.

    Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice WalkerJordan; his parents, Louis P. and Bonnie Hux Jordan; a brother,Venable Jordan; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan BrittanyRoberts, Kinsey Grace Thompson and Grayson Thomas Thompson.

    He is survived by three sons, Travis Jordan Jr. and wife, Sondra,Ken Jordan and wife, Betty, and Stan Jordan and wife, Sandra; onedaughter, Marilyn Crum and husband, Tommy; a very special friendwho was like another son, Jerry Robison; 9 grandchildren, JonJordan and wife, Mary, Jay Jordan and wife, Faith, Kristi Thompson,Stancie Roberts and husband, Wes, Jessica Watts and husband,Roland, Ashlee Belcher and husband, Alan, Jack Crum, Drew Jordanand wife, Amanda, and Josh Jordan and wife, Jennifer; 17great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hilda Walker, Helen MayHenderson and Dorothy Williams; and numerous nieces andnephews.

    A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, Jan. 20,from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service inBrookhaven, with funeral services on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m.at Shady Grove Baptist Church. There will be visitation at thechurch one hour prior to the service.

    The family would like to extend thanks to the V.A. Home HealthCare, the V.A. Hospital, the V.A. Extended Care Facility, all ofBiloxi, and especially to those who personally cared for Mr.Jordan.
