Hazel Cloy Godbold

Funeral services for Hazel Cloy Godbold, native of Franklin County, are 10 a.m. on Friday, March 16, at Franklin Funeral Home, with burial in Wright’s Chapel Cemetery. The Rev. Tony Mullins will officiate.

     Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Godbold, 99, died March 14, 2012, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb. She was born in Little Springs on March 9, 1913, to John and Iva Adams Cloy.

     She was currently a resident of Camellia Estates in McComb where she lived for the past 10 years. She was co-owner of Franklin Furniture Corp. and was the bookkeeper for various businesses. Mrs. Godbold was a member of Bude United Methodist Church and a member of United Daughters of the Confederacy.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Horace G. “Bud” Godbold Jr.; and sisters, Marnez Cloy and Evelyn Applewhite.

     Survivors are her son, Buddy Godbold and wife, Nell, of Meadville; daughter, Margaret McGee and husband, Tony, of Wesson; sister, Stella Smith, of Shreveport, La.; brother, J.D. Cloy and wife, Sarah, of Meadville; two grandchildren, Melinda Bowers and husband, Eric, and Rebecca Jolly and husband, Robert; and one great-grandchild, Brody Bowers.
