Alex Denver Hall

Denver Hall walked into the loving embrace of Jesus on April 14, 2012, surrounded by the love of his family and the expert care received at Bethany Health Care Facility in Nashville, Tenn., since November 2011.
Mr. Hall was born on Aug. 28, 1923, in Lincoln County to Ealom and Susie Hall. Mr. Hall proudly served in the United States Navy as a Machinist Mate First Class and was honorably discharged in December of 1946 and he returned to Mississippi to his wife, Evelyn Martin Hall. Denver was a well respected resident of Natchez for over 50 years, a deacon at Salem Primitive Baptist Church for 47 years, and retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in 1986 and continued to be an electrical contractor until 2006. In his final years, he lived in Nashville with his daughter, Sue, and her family, where he was a member of Big Harpeth Primitive Baptist Church in Franklin, Tenn. He enjoyed his time at Centennial Adult Day Care in Nashville, reminiscing with other veterans on the good and bad times of the war.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years; an infant daughter, Derinda Louise Hall; four brothers, Maxie Hall, Ernie Hall, Charles Hall and Ealom Hall Jr.; and a foster son, George Hall.
He is survived by his daughters, Sue Redden and husband, Dale, of Nashville, Tenn., Denay Phillips, of Natchez, and Tamila Fiola and husband, Keith, of Swansea, Mass.; foster daughter, Patty Hoffstadt and husband, Harrell, of Kentwood, La.; foster son, John Hall; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Artie Lea, of Brookhaven, and Jeanette Adams, of Pascagoula; brother, J.D. Hall and wife, Pat, of Summit; and two sisters-in-law, Ella Hall, of Brookhaven, and Mary Jane Hall, of Natchez.
Denver enjoyed a long and happy life surrounded by family and friends who loved and respected him.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive. Services will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, at the funeral home with Elder Danny Wisner officiating.
Pallbearers will be Stacy Arnold, Forrest Dunlop, Bryan Hall, Josh Cutrer, Jarrette Hall, Buddy Hall and Jimmy Hall. Honorary pallbearers are JD Hall, Dale Redden, Keith Fiola, Lane Fiola and Neal Rousseau. His grandson, Stacy Arnold will sing hymns of praise.
