Funeral services for Myrtis Helen Smith, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on North Jackson Street, with burial in Easthaven Cemetery. The Rev. Mack Massey and the Rev. Wiley Reid will officiate.

     Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Smith, 82, died April 23, 2012, at her home. She was born in Sumrall on Nov. 25, 1929, to Lonnie Monroe and Nora Burkhalter Green.

     She was a businesswoman and homemaker as well as a member of New Sight Baptist Church.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Juan Cecil Smith; and one brother, Curtis R. Green.

     Survivors are her son, Lonnie H. Smith and wife, Denise, of Robeline, La; daughters, Anna S. Airhart and husband, Ambrose, of Natchitoches, La., Helen Jolene Smith and husband, Michael Maier, of Magnolia, and Cheryl “Nita” Smith, of Brookhaven; 13 grandchildren, Denise Waters, Kristi Brister, Dewayne McCaffery, Jeffery Laird, Amy Usry, Michele Montgomery, James Stanley, Michael Green, Mandy Graham, Robert Smith, J.T. Smith, David Smith and Miranda Smith; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Ivone Martin, of Lexington; and brother, Charles Green and wife, Faye, of Lorman.
