Edward Marquis “Quisy” Henderson

Services for Edward Marquis “Quisy” Henderson, of Hattiesburg, will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, at Shady Grove M.B. Church in Silver Creek with burial in Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church Cemetery in Sontag. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

     Mr. Henderson, 31, died May 22, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. He was born in Lincoln County on Sept 15, 1980, to the late Edward Lee Henderson and Ethelene B. Henderson-Jones.

     He graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1999 and attended Hinds Community College. He married his high school sweetheart, Shemantha, in 2008 and they made their home in Hattiesburg. He was a former employee in bridge construction for five years and later in the offshore industry until an injury in 2009. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church.

     Preceding him in death were his father, Edward Lee Henderson; grandparents, Versie Henderson and Willie Bill and Mae Ethel Baggett; and cousin, Curtis “Reco” Beard.

     Survivors are his wife, Shemantha T. Henderson of Hattiesburg; mother and stepfather, Ethelene Henderson-Jones and Lonnie Jones, of Sontag; his only sibling, Katina Henderson (the late Fred Dixon); niece KaDarra Johnson; nephew, KaReco Jackson, all of Brookhaven; grandmother Mary Lee Henderson, of Loyd Star; mother-in-law, Iva Hooker; father-in-law, Rickey Gholar; brother-in-law, Richard Hooker, all of Silver Creek; and a host of other family members and friends.
