Funeral services for Dr. George H. Edmonson Jr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, at First Baptist Church of Brookhaven, with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

     Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the church.

     Dr. Edmonson, 75, died May 30, 2012, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Magee on Feb. 9, 1937.

     He was a dentist and a member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven. He was also a member of Brookhaven Exchange Club and Gideons International, lifetime deacon and general officer at First Baptist, and a life member of Mississippi Dental Association. Dr. Edmonson got his bachelor’s degree from Ole Miss and doctorate in dentistry from Emory University in Atlanta.

     Preceding him in death was his father, George H. Edmonson Sr.

     Survivors are his wife, Linda H. Edmonson; mother, Lanelle Russell Edmonson; son, Mark David Edmonson; daughter, Amy Lynn Edmonson Campbell; brothers, Richard Mae Edmonson and Ben Garret Edmonson; nephews, Richie Edmonson and wife, Lisa, Stephen Edmonson and wife, Deborah, and Dr. Will Edmonson and wife, Tricia; and granddaughter, Kirstie Ann Campbell.
