Jeremy Loy, Darien Dorsey and David  Tadlock have a wealth of football coaching experience and two of them have coached against the Brookhaven Panthers during their careers. They are the newest additions to the Ole Brook coaching staff, which is under the direction of Tommy Clopton.

     “All three of them are hard-working guys,” said Clopton, seated behind his desk in the BHS football field house. “They are very professional. Any thing I ask them to do, they are going to do it to the best of their ability.

     “They will do what it takes to make our program successful.”

     In two more staff additions, Brad Bland has been hired as an assistant coach and Alonzo Cameron in the new head football coach at Alexander Junior High. Cameron is a BHS grad who is moving home from Texas. Bland is a Wesson native.

     Clopton said Zander Hamilton has been hired to work as an assistant coach with BHS girls basketball coach Freda Craft.

     Jeremy Loy, 34, was Clopton’s first hire after he came aboard in late April. Loy is Brook’s offensive coordinator and worked with the Panthers during spring practice.

     In 1996, Loy graduated from Trinity Episcopal School in Natchez. He attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College for two years and transferred to Mississippi State. He obtained a Master’s degree from Alcorn State University.

     Loy began his coaching career at Natchez, followed by stints at Franklin County, Tupelo and Mendenhall, where he spent the last two years as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. He and Tadlock both coached against Brookhaven when they were at Franklin County.

     “We had a successful spring and our kids picked (new offense) up real well,” said Loy. “The kids are receptive and I’ve been impressed.”

     Loy will teach physical education.  He is married to the former Sarah Salters of Natchez and they have three children: Will, 7; Macy, 4 and Wes, 3.

     Darien Dorsey, 30, graduated from McLaurin High School in Florence. He played wide receiver at Belhaven College for Coach Norman Joseph. He majored in business administration and obtained a Master’s degree in education, specializing in leadership. He also obtained a degree from Piedmont (Ga.) College.

     He was a graduate assistant at Belhaven for two years. He coached football and track at Central Gwinnett (Ga.) High School for four years.

     “I enjoy Brookhaven. It’s nice and quiet,” said Dorsey. “I know they love football here and there’s quite a tradition. Our kids are working hard this summer.”

     Dorsey will coach wide receivers and serve as head track coach at BHS. He and his wife, Temeika, have two children: Tia, 10; and Taylor, 17 months.

     He will teach health at Alexander.

     David Tadlock, 50, coached against Brookhaven at Franklin County  and at Vicksburg. He graduated from John Curtis Christian in New Orleans in 1980.

     He played fullback for Southwest Mississippi Community College when Floyd Davis, John Ogden and Mac Anders were coaching the Bears. He earned All-Conference honors at Dana College in Blair, Neb., 1983-85. He majored in history and physical education.

     Tadlock began his coaching career at Dana, followed by stints at Delta State, Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Co. and Illinois Wesleyan University, located in Bloomington-Normal, Ill. He coached high school football at Superior (Neb.), Hillcrest Christian, Wingfield, Vicksburg, Franklin County and Morton. He worked the last four years as Morton’s defensive coordinator.

     While at Franklin County, Tadlock helped the Bulldogs win the state championship in 2006.

     “I coached against Brookhaven when I was at Franklin County and Vicksburg,” said Tadlock. “It’s good to be on their side this time.

     “I’m excited about Brookhaven,” he continued. “I like Coach Clopton and his vision.  He has a hard-working staff and the community supports the program so much.”

     Tadlock will coach the BHS defensive line. He has three children: Zoey Leigh, 24; Shelbe Olivia, 22; and Kellan Ross, 18.

     The Panthers participate in offseason weightlifting and running drills four days a week, starting at 5:50 a.m. Preseason practice begins July 30. Their first game is Aug. 24, hosting Lawrence County.
