Funeral services for Billy Ray Simon of Brookhaven are 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at St. James M.B. Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

     Visitation will be Tuesday, July 10, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Williams Mortuary.

     Mr. Simon, 67, died July 4, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Brookhaven on March 16, 1945, to Freddie Simon and Mittie Dunnigan.

     Mr. Simon was a 1965 graduate of Alexander High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from Mississippi Industrial College. He was employed for many years by Packard Electric, and later retired from offshore drilling. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with 25 years of service. He was a member of St. James M.B. Church.

     Preceding him in death were his parents.

     Survivors include his wife, Jean Simon of Brookhaven; his sons, Ladrick Simon of San Diego, Calif.; his daughter, Kimberly Simon of Columbus, Miss.; one grandchild, Thalia Simon of San Diego; and many cousins and other relatives.
