Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Alexander, of Summit, are 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, at Jones Family Funeral Services, with burial in Enon Cemetery.

     Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Alexander, 70, died Sept. 1, 2012, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born in Tylertown on April 16, 1942, to Stanley Coon and Athalee Coon Daigle.

     She was a very devoted military wife and loving mother. She made every move with her family that the military would require of them, living in many foreign countries. She owned and operated ABC Kiddie Campus in McComb for many years. Mrs. Alexander was a devoted member of the Baptist faith. Her family said she absolutely loved life and was known for her wonderful sense of humor.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Everett and Vilace Coon; and two sisters, Bonnie and Betty Coon.

     Survivors are her husband and best friend for 53 years, James E. Alexander; sons, Bill Alexander and wife, Heather, of Brookhaven, and Jim Alexander and wife, Jackie, of Galvez, La.; sister, Joan Beal and husband, Dell, of Brookhaven; six grandchildren, Drew Alexander, Dustin Alexander and wife, Amanda, Darby Alexander, Felicia Young and Madison Young; and two great-grandchildren, Gage Alexander and Kaci Aydelott.

     Pallbearers will be Drew, Dustin and Dalton Alexander, Michael Beal, Paul King, Johnny Boyd, Rusty Duvall and Kurt Waguspack.
