Funeral services for Jonah R. Hawn, of Jayess, are 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at Jayess Baptist Church, with burial in Greer Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

     Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

     Mr. Hawn, 91, died Sept. 30, 2012, at Countrybrook Living Center. He was born in Mississippi on March 20, 1921, to Charlie and Emma Alexander Hawn.

     He was Quality Control Inspector at Croft Metals in McComb for 33 years. He was a member of Jayess Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Hawn served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a loving husband, dad, sibling and friend who always put others before himself. He also was noted for his hard work and watermelons.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 66 years, Doris Gulledge Hawn; infant daughter, Judy Carol Hawn; sisters, Betty Hawn, Bertie Walker and husband, D.P., and Eudena Clark and husband, Bob; brother, John Henry Hawn; granddaughter, Michelle Roberts; grandson-in-law, Kelton Schwarzauer; and father and mother-in-law, Johnny and Essie Gulledge.

     Survivors are his daughter, Nancy Hawn Ables and husband, Harrell; brothers, Wesley Hawn and wife, Dorothy, and Charles Hawn Jr. and wife, Becky; sister, Gertie Alexander and husband, Howard; two grandchildren, Tony Roberts and wife, Lane, and Sonya R. Schwarzauer; and three great-grandchildren; Grace Roberts, Jack Roberts and Sam Schwarzauer.
