Graveside services for Ruth Porter Reynolds, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, at Rosehill Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home on North Jackson Street is in charge of arrangements.

     Visitation is Friday from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Reynolds, 81, died Oct. 10, 2012, at Golden Living Center-Brook Manor. She was born on Feb. 26, 1931, to Alonzo and Edna Smith Porter.

     She was a longtime active member of Easthaven Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and loved to cook for anyone. Mrs. Reynolds retired from F.W. Woolworth Co. in Brookhaven after many years of employment there.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Isaac L. Reynolds; and sister, Merlin Dixon.

     Survivors are her daughters, Cheryl Lawrence and husband, Charles, of Baton Rouge, La., and Brenda Richardson and husband, Bruce, of Brookhaven; brothers, Clifford Porter and wife, Leah, of Little Rock, Ark., and David Porter and wife, Evelyn, of Denham Springs, La.; grandchildren, Todd Richardson, Paige Richardson King and husband, Kris, Charles Lawrence and wife, Tami, James Lawrence and Kaci Lawrence Hardin and husband, Josh; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Lawrence, Evan Lawrence, Brett King and Tyler King.
