Funeral services for Evelyn Tucker Griffith, of Jackson, were 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park South. Father Lenin Vargas officiated.

     Mrs. Griffith, 81, died Oct. 12, 2012, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital in Jackson.

     She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Jackson. She was known for being a very classy lady who loved everyone. Mrs. Griffith had the gift of compassion and demonstrated it through her volunteer work at the V.A. Medical Center for many years.

     Preceding her in death were her husbands, Mac Douglas, Al Tucker and Gene Griffith; and granddaughter, Amanda Grace Causey.

     Survivors are her sons, Don Douglas and wife, Vivian, of Brandon, Mike Douglas, of Jackson, and Alex Tucker and wife, Sandra, of Brandon; daughter, Theresa Causey and husband, Robert, of Raymond; brother, James Paul Evans and wife, Aileen, of Sontag; sister, Sylvith Fortenberry, of Silver Creek; grandchildren, Deena Crews, Jennifer Coney and husband, Charles, Chad Douglas, Michelle Douglas, Robyn Haralson and husband, Nathan, Abbie Murphy and husband, Phillip, Jessica McInnis and husband, Bryan, and Alecia Tucker; and seven great-grandchildren.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Volunteer Services at the V.A. Medical Center in Jackson.
