Dean Leamer

A retired business owner and resident of Brookhaven, Dean Leamer died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at Lawrence County Nursing Center. He was 82, born May 5, 1930, in Pennsylvania.

     He was a U.S. Army corporal during the Korean War from 1948 to1952.

     Services were at Natchez National Cemetery Wednesday, Oct. 10.

     Survivors are his spouse, Peggy Cain Leamer; daughters, Pamela Leamer, Cynthia Leamer McFatter, Johnnie Leamer Landry and Deana Leamer Vickry; sons, William “Rusty” Leamer, James “Tommy” Leamer and Roy Don Leamer; stepdaughter, Billie Kleinsmith; stepsons, John Cain and Charles Cain; sister, Dorothy Brocious; brother, Paul Clay Leamer; and grandchildren, Barrett McFatter, Rachael McFarlain, James Leamer, Holly Reams, Danielle Pilcher, Nicholas Pilcher, Nathaniel Pilcher, Christopher McFatter, Lauren Leamer, Ashleigh Leamer, Stephen Shultz, William Vickry and Rylee Kate Vickry; stepgrandchild, Timothy Kleinsmith; and 12 great-grandchildren.

      Preceded him in death were his parents, Clay and Ethel Myers Leamer.

     He loved gardening, politics and history.
