Funeral services for Elmer Lee Jordan, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery.

     Visitation is Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mr. Jordan, 80, died Oct. 20, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born in Mississippi on Jan. 26, 1932, to Eddie Ulmer and Emily May Scaggs Jordan.

     He was retired from Delphi and Brookhaven Nursery. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener, who had a green thumb. Mr. Jordan was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and also was a deacon at Faith Baptist Church.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife of 41 years, Bonnie Jordan; two brothers, James Jordan and Johnny Jordan; and two sisters, Hattie May Jordan and Irene Boswell.

     Survivors are his wife, Dell Jordan; son, Jimmy Jordan and wife, Judy; daughters, Theresa Griffey and husband, David Sr., of Kankakee, Ill., and Mary Allen and husband, Johnny, of Brookhaven; stepdaughters, Cindy Rollins and husband, Robert, of Bogue Chitto, and Penny Reid and husband, Randy, of Clayton, La.; brother, Joe Edward Jordan, of Wesson; sisters, Lora Dell Keen, of Wesson, Geneva Hux, of Sontag, Thelma Delaughter, of Brookhaven, and Earline Sharon, of Ethel, La.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
