Funeral services for Betty Smith Walker, of Brookhaven, were 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Macedonia Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

     Mrs. Walker, 60, died Oct. 28, 2012, at Haven Hall Health Care Center. She was born on Oct. 14, 1952, to W. Vernon and Ivy Pearl Case Smith.

     She was a retired medical clerk, having worked for the Lincoln County Health Department and Dr. Wilkins. Mrs. Walker was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Carrie Laverne Smith; and brother, C.M. “Mutt” Smith.

     Survivors are her son, Chad Walker, of New Orleans; daughter, Jennifer Whitaker and husband, Daren, of Columbus, Ga.; sisters, Margaret Watts and husband, Glen, of Baton Rouge, La., Jean Kimble and husband, Edwin, of Vicksburg, and Nita Smith and husband, Joel, of Brookhaven; sister-in-law, Betty Smith; two grandchildren, Adah and Amelia Whitaker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
