Funeral services for Thomas Wesley Thornhill, of Hammond, La., are 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in Mallalieu United Methodist Church Cemetery.

     Visitation is Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mr. Thornhill, 84, died Oct. 29, 2012, at the House of Grace in Denham Springs, La. He was born in Brookhaven on Nov. 8, 1927, to Robert J. and Mattie Rials Thornhill.

     He was a member of Mallalieu United Methodist Church of Brookhaven and a member of Fair Oak Springs Masonic Lodge, as well as a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired as a construction superintendent with William H. Ladew Fire Protection Co., where he installed fire protection automatic sprinkler systems for many years.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Viana Wallace Thornhill; siblings, Fannie Kyzar, Claire Owens, Ruby Higgs, Addie Price, Ida Lanthrop, Louise Albritton, Mary Hampton, Francis Smith, Charlie Thornhill and R.J. Thornhill.

     Survivors are his son, Ricky Thornhill and wife, Denise, of Crowley, La.; daughter, Terry Tompkins and husband, David, of Hammond, La.; three grandchildren, Trent Tompkins and wife, Brittany, Chance Thornhill and Amanda Thornhill; and eight great-grandchildren.

            In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richard Murphy Hospice House, 1109 S. Chestnut St., Hammond, LA 70403.
