The Brookhaven Little Theatre hopes area residents are ready to kick off the Christmas season with a trek to downtown’s Haven Theater.
BLT will debut “A Haven Holiday” this week, a musical production featuring singing, dancing and even a live pianist, all by local performers.
The production’s co-director JoAnna Sproles said this show is shaking things up a little bit at the Haven.
“This is a brand new concept for us,” Sproles said.
In the past, the BLT has typically has typically opened a play in December, but Sproles said this year’s format will involve more people and freshen things up a little.
“We are showcasing more local talent this way than casting a play,” Sproles said. “It’s something original and unique.”
The performers were all handpicked by the production’s organizers and feature a wide diversity of ages, said Sproles, who is co-directing the production with Kellye Sicks.
The show should last about two hours and complimentary refreshments will be served during an intermission. Tickets to the show cost $10 for all ages.
The show opens the evening of Nov. 30 with a subsequent evening performance on Dec. 1, a matinee on Dec. 2, and evening performances on Dec. 7 and 8.
All evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. with the matinee at 2 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before show time.
Hot chocolate will also be on sale at the Haven the evening of Nov. 29 during the Brookhaven Christmas parade.
