James Clinton Flake

Mr. James Clinton Flake, 84, passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko.

     Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, with the Rev. Mason Joy officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Methodist Cemetery. 

     Born on May 30, 1928, Mr. Flake was a member of East Louisville Baptist Church. He was a retired technician in the National Guard, a 32nd degree Mason, and he served his country in the Army Air Force during World Ward II.

     Mr. Flake is survived by his daughter, Janys Jones and husband, Nolen “Curly”, of Walnut Grove; and two sons, Jimmie Flake and wife, Faye, of Sturgis; and David C. Flake and wife, Diann, of Bogue Chitto.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.  Also surviving Mr. Flake are his six sisters:  Ruby Rogers; Maggie Eaves; Katherine McBrayer and husband, Eddie; Minnie Hudspeth; Elaine Dooley and husband, Tom; and Martha Fulcher and husband, Leroy, all of Louisville. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Flake; his parents, Willie and Bythe White Flake; and his brother, George Flake.

     Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Flake, Carl Flake, Mike Rogers, Ray McBrayer, Danny Frazier, and Duane Culpepper. 

     Memorials may be given to New Hope Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Jerry Easley, 5273 Highway 14 East, Louisville, MS 39339.  Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS, is handling the arrangements.
