Loyd Star’s basketball teams claimed a pair of junior high victories over Bogue Chitto Monday at Loyd Star. The Lady Hornets swamped Bogue Chitto 33-6, powered by Caylee Yarborough’s 10 points. Makenzie Smith added 8 pots and Kaylea Smith 6.

     The Lady Bobcats got 4 points from Taneshia May.

     In the boys game, Loyd Star beat Bogue Chitto 50-29,led by southpaw point guard Zacheus Arnold’s 29 points.  Cade Hodges chipped in 7 points and Blake Ramsey had 5 points for the 9-6 Hornets.

     Bogue Chitto was led by Taylor McKenzie’s 14 points. Jordan Bullock added 6 points.

Seventh Grade Results

     In the seventh grade boys game, Loyd Star defeated the Bobcats 28-14, directed by Cameron Carwyle and Will Watts with 8 points each. Britt Huey added 5 points, Cade Hodges 4 and Jeff Thomas 3.

     The Bobcats got 8 points from Hayden Burton and 4 from Connor Price.

     In the girls game, BC prevailed 19-14 as Chyna Collins and Tiasia Black scored 6 points each.

     Loyd Star got 8 points from Katie West and 4 from Alexis Doss.
