Funeral services for Willie F. Warrick, of Bogue Chitto, were 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Bogue Chitto Cemetery.
Mr. Warrick, 90, died Dec. 15, 2012, at Perry County Nursing Center. He was born on Sept. 7, 1923, to Ruben Wiley and Alberta Clark Warrick.
He was retired from the oil field and was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist church. Mr. Warrick served in the U.S. Navy during World War II where he served on the minesweeper USS Clamour.
He was born in Perry County. He retired at the age of 62 so he could fish a few years before he died. He was passionate about the great outdoors. At age 89, Mr. Warrick was still riding his 3-wheeler around Bogue Chitto.
He was one of the founders of Bogue Chitto Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of Bogue Chitto Masonic Lodge #260.
Lillian Evelyn Price Warrick, his wife of 64 years, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 14, 2011.
Preceding him in death his parents; wife; and brothers, Elmer and Roy Warrick.
Survivors are his son, Dale Warrick and wife, Molly, of Raymond; daughter, Ann Price, of Bogue Chitto; brothers, Ruben “Bud” Warrick, of Petal, and James C. Warrick and wife, Joyce, of Petal; sisters, Lillie Mae Beasley, of Richton, Bernadine Sykes, of Hattiesburg, and Faye Pearce and husband, Arno, of Runnelstown; two grandchildren, Brian and Greg Warrick, both of Brookhaven; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey Warrick, of Brookhaven, Georgia Warrick, of Brookhaven, and Aiden Hall, of Raymond.
