Funeral services for Melba Jean Runnels Malone, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with burial in Gallman City Cemetery.

     Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Malone, 72, died Dec. 25, 2012, at Countrybrook Living Center. She was born in Mississippi on March 25, 1940, to Leroy and Mae Farmer Runnels.

     She was a homemaker and a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Marion A. Malone.

     Survivors are her son, Eric Malone and wife, Jackie, of Brookhaven; daughters, Melanie Hazelett and husband, Kenny, of Lafayette, La., Marsha Getz and husband, Terry, of White Pine, Tenn., Milly Case and husband, Mitchell, and Michelle King and husband, Derek, of Brookhaven; special friend, “Leon”; sisters, Dot Johns, of Gallman, Norma Hammack, of Natchez, and Joyce Beasley, of Crystal Springs; 10 grandchildren, Greg Davis, of Hazlehurst, Michelle Willis, of New Zealand, Adam Getz, Zachary King, Seth Hazelett, Marc Getz, Nicholas King, and Hannah, Jacob and Sarah Malone; and 11 great-grandchildren.
