Funeral services for Dorothy Bethel Ellis Franklin, of Vidalia, La., are 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

     Visitation is Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

     Mrs. Franklin, 83, died Dec. 30, 2012, at Grace Home in Alexandria, La. She was born in Silverton, Texas, on Dec. 21, 1929, to Sidney James and Icey Seay Ellis.

     She was of the Baptist faith.

     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James T. Franklin; three brothers, Charles Ellis, J.D. Ellis and Odis Ellis; and three sisters, Lorrene Mallow, Irene Brown and Eva Lee Huntington.

     Survivors are her sister, Ruth Greer, of Lubbock, Texas; sisters-in-law, Paula Walker, Bertille Johnson, Sara E. Breaux and Mary Lou Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
