Funeral services for Marie Cooper, of Crystal Springs, are 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, at Springs of Praise, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

     Visitation is Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the church.

     Mrs. Cooper, 56, died Jan. 1, 2013, at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

     She was a native of Mobile, Ala. She attended school in Houston and moved to Crystal Springs during junior high school. Mrs. Cooper lived in Jackson for a period and moved back to Crystal Springs. She was a member of Springs of Praise Church for 35 years. She was active with church youth and taught Sunday school. Mrs. Cooper was an organ donor.

     Survivors are her husband, Joseph A Cooper; sons, Chris Berry and Heath Brewer, both of Crystal Springs; stepson, Joey Cooper, of Crystal Springs; daughter, Jeanette Cheroni, of Wesson; stepdaughter, Sharon Irwin, of Columbus; father, John Franklin Brewer, of Crystal Springs; brother, Ernie Brewer, of Baton Rouge, La.; sister, Cathy Sanders, of Crystal Springs; nephew, Kyle Ernie Brewer, of Baton Rouge, La.; nieces, Jennifer Marie Brewer and Amanda Gayle Brewer; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
