WESSON – Playoff action began for the Co-Lin Conference Junior High tournament Monday night with plenty of first round excitement in  Wesson’s Snake Pit.

     In the girls’ games, the Bogue Chitto Lady Cats slipped past the West Lincoln Lady Bears 17-16. In the nightcap, the Enterprise Lady Yellow Jackets edged the host Wesson Lady Cobras 24-21.

     In boys’ action, the West Lincoln Bears thumped the Bogue Chitto Bobcats 27-17. In the finale, the Loyd Star Hornets clobbered the Enterprise Yellow Jackets 51-19.

     Tournament semifinals action is Wednesday as Loyd Star battles Bogue Chitto in the girls’ game at 4 p.m. The Cobras entertain the Bears at 5.

Bogue Chitto 18, West Lincoln 17

     Taneshia May was the offensive leader for the Lady Cats with 6 points. Jayla Black and Charysmi Collins contributed 4 points apiece.

     Sarah Jane Doty directed the Lady Bears with 7 points. Heather Montgomery provided 5 points.

W. Lincoln 27, Bogue Chitto 19

     Seth Bivens paced the Bears with a team-high 9 points. Donterius Taylor added 8 points.

     Jordan Bullock was the top scorer for the Bobcats with 8 points.

Enterprise 24, Wesson 21

     Courtney Greer and Alisa Barlow were the offensive leaders for the Lady Jackets with 6 points apiece.

     Aurianna Vaughn pumped in 6 points to lead the Lady Cobras. Tashay Glasper contributed 5 points.

Loyd Star 51, Enterprise 19

     Zacchaeus Arnold provided a strong performance for the Hornets. He netted 17 points to lead Loyd Star. Blake Ramsey and Chandler Barnett had 9 points each.

     Dewayne Pendleton directed the Jackets with 7 points. Austin Carter added 5 points.
