Marshall scores 40 in West Lincoln’s romp

     VICKSBURG – Sophomore guard Duane Marshall shot out the lights Tuesday night, sacking 40 points in West Lincoln’s 101-53 blowout win against the St. Aloysius Flashes. Marshall sacked 11 treys in the victory.

     In the varsity girls game, St. Al’s Lady Flashes beat West Lincoln 33-29, powered by Ann Thomas who scored 17 points.

     West Lincoln continues Region 7-1A action Friday night at Hinds AHS in Utica.

     The Bears (16-2, 1-0), roared to a 57-31 halftime lead. Forward Lucas Burris pulled down 8 rebounds, Sam Bivens 6 and Marshall 5. Jared Case dished out 8 assists.

     “It was good to get everybody some game action,” said West Lincoln coach Lane Young. “We shot the 3-ball pretty good,”  making 19 treys.

     Elliott Bexley’s 21 points led the Flashes.

     The Lady Bears (7-10, 1-1) couldn’t find their shooting touch against St. Al. Heather Moak’s 10 points and 6 rebounds led paced West Lincoln.

     “It was a disappointing loss all the way around,” said Coach Young. His team trailed 16-15 at halftime.

Junior High Results

     West Lincoln whipped the Flashes 52-29 in the junior high boys game, led by Ronnie Edwards and Ke-Shaun London with 12 and 11 points respectively.

     Nine points by Rhett Verwine led St. Al.
