Jean Ratliff Oldham

Jean Ratliff Oldham, 101, of Brookhaven, formerly of Jackson, died Jan. 9, 2013, at her home. She was born April 30, 1911, in Clinton.

She taught school for a brief period of time after graduating from Mississippi

College. The rest of her life was spent as a devoted homemaker.

     Preceding Jean were her parents, six brothers, one sister and Sam Oldham, Sr., her husband of 69 years. Survivors are Bettye Oldham Ware and husband Clifton of St Paul, Minn.; Sam E. Oldham Jr. and wife Carolyn of Brookhaven; and Scott C. Oldham of Chattanooga, Tenn. There are also five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

     Mrs. Oldham was a member of the First Christian Church while living in Jackson, and a member of the First United Methodist Church when she moved to Brookhaven in 2002.

     Visitation is Tuesday 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
