“Rain, rain go away”

     So goes the childhood nursery rhyme, which also went on to say something about the rain coming “again another day.”

     And so it has, day after day and night after night here in Southwest Mississippi. Add to that the increasingly chilly temperatures, and this morning we had snow instead of rain!

     All in all, the excessive cold and moisture has made for some really miserable weather of late.

     For those battling cabin fever from too much staying in and avoiding the incessant damp chill, we suggest a warm, dry place to come in from the cold – the gymnasium at your area high school or community college.

     Throughout our region, basketball season is in full swing and will be through February. With more than a dozen teams in our area, you’ll find some hoop action just about every winter night.

     A warm gym is a friendly place to get in from the cold, and the young athletes and their families will appreciate your presence and support.
