It is an honor and a privilege to serve Brookhaven as your mayor. To live in Brookhaven is a blessing, but to serve as the mayor of the “Shining Star” in southwest Mississippi and to represent the best citizens in the entire state is very humbling and gratifying. By and large, everybody pulls in the same direction toward making Brookhaven a better place to LEARN, WORK, SHOP, WORSHIP, and LIVE.

I thank all of the citizens of Brookhaven for their vote of confidence and their support during my twelve years serving as your alderman-at-large and then mayor, but recent events have led me to reassess my priorities in life. As a result, of many considered factors, I have decided not to seek the office of mayor of the City of Brookhaven.
