Bogue Chitto sweeps St. Al in Region 7-1A

VICKSBURG – The Bogue Chitto boys and girls swept a Region 7-1A basketball twinbill Tuesday night against St. Aloysius. The Lady Cats roared to a 77-50 win and the Bobcats notched a 64-49 victory over the Flashes.

The Lady Cats (18-4, 3-1)

Senior guard Adrienne Wallace pumped in a game-high 26 points, made 9 steals and 6 assists in the win. Earlnesheia Dillon added 14 points and Mattie Avants 10. Zariah Matthews had 7 points and 6 steals.

“This was a good district win for us on the road,” said BC coach Christi Terrell. “WE came out ready to play and everyone was able to get playing time.”

The Lady Flashes were led by Ann Thomas who scored a game-high 26 points.

The Bobcats (4-16, 2-2) got 15 points each from Dennis Rogers and Zach Perkins. Germie Martin chipped in 10 points as Coach Gareth Sartin’s Bobcats broke a 27-27 halftime deadlock with a 37-point second half.

The Flashes got 15 points from Matthew Foley and 13 from Elliot Bexley.
