Funeral services for Harold L. Leary, of Collins, are 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation is Saturday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Leary, 89, died Jan. 24, 2013, at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins.

He was a retired oil exploration surveyor with Western Geophysical Co. After returning to Brookhaven to take care of his mother, Mr. Leary worked for Bendix Mobile Homes as chief electrician, and retired from Thurman Electric. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II for the U.S. Army. Mr. Leary was an avid fisherman.

Preceding him in death were his father, Robert Dudley Leary Sr.; mother, Bessie Elna Pitts Leary; brothers, John L. Leary and Robert D. Leary Jr.; and sister, Katherine L. Roberts.

Survivors are his brother, Floyd and wife, Mary Jo Leary, of St. Simmons Island, Ga.; nephews, Robert D. III and wife, Pat Leary, of Bogue Chitto, Terry R. and wife, Jane Leary, of Brookhaven, John and wife, Karen Leary, of Atlanta, and Tom and wife, Delores Roberts, of Plano, Texas; nieces, Rebecca L. and husband, Ralph Sartin, of Brookhaven, Lisa Leary, of Dunwoody, Ga., and Linda L. and husband, Fyodor Cherniavsky, of Atlanta; and special friend, Lucille Farris, of Brookhaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Brookhaven.
