LIBERTY – Terry Brown and Dartavious Dixon scored 12 points each in leading the Wesson Cobras to a 53-45 win Friday night win against the Amite County Trojans in Region 7-2A basketball action.

“This was a big win for us,” said Wesson boys coach Rusti Newman. “We played well tonight. We controlled the tempo of the game and managed it well.

“We are still missing too many free throws and need to improve on that,” he continued. “I’m proud of my guys for staying focused, playing hard and getting the job done.”

Newman’s Cobras (17-7, 6-1) got 7 rebounds apiece from Eddie McCullum and Dixon. Farrod Green and Dixon each had 3 assists in the win that saw the Cobras leading 33-31 entering the fourth quarter.
